He's the Canadian gift that keeps on giving! Ryan Reynolds donated $4,000 to Edmonton Food Bank to help them reach their $10,000 goal. He even left a sweet message to the city in Alberta. "We hit our goal of $10,000 dollars for the Edmonton Food Bank! Thanks to you and Ryan Reynolds who just dropped a cool 4k. Look at his donation message!" wrote Virgin Radio Edmonton on Facebook. In his message alongside the donation made on April 2, Reynolds wrote, "I happen to love Edmonton. This donation is in memory of Connor McGrath. Love, Ryan Reynolds". According to CTV News, the fundraising campaign was organized with help from 104.9 Virgin Radio with the goal to help feed Edmontonians in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. Reynolds' donation comes two weeks after he and wife Blake Lively donated $1 million to food banks in Canada and the US. The father of three shared that he and Lively donated the money "to be split between FEEDING AMERICA and FOOD BANKS CANADA. If you can give, those orgs need our help." The company will also "be adding an additional 30% tip for every bottle ordered online and every Aviation cocktail delivered to your home for the month of April." He gave them a very special peek at the Pikachu doll used in Pokémon Detective Pikachu and showed the actual mask he wore in Deadpool. Both of which he has at his home where he's quarantining with his wife and three daughters. View this post on Instagram Our friend Ryan Reynolds @vancityreynolds surprised SickKids patients this afternoon with a virtual visit! Ryan joined @sickkidstoronto’s daily call-in show, which is broadcast to all patient rooms across the hospital. Ryan chatted with patients about Pikachu, having three young daughters, his favourite food (thin-crust pizza) and his ugly Christmas sweater—which helped raise over $300K for SickKids in January. Thank you, Ryan, for an afternoon we will never forget! ❤ A post shared by SickKids Foundation (@sickkidsvs) on Mar 30, 2020 at 3:00pm PDT Virgin Radio's Feed Your Friends are currently at over $15,000 in donations for their fundraiser.
