Just call him a family man! Elon Musk along with girlfriend Grimes recently welcomed their newborn son, X Æ A-12 Musk. You might have been surprised to find out the name the couple had chosen, but giving his children interesting names isn’t something new for the entrepreneur.

Grimes broke down X Æ A-12’s name in a tweet for followers who had been prompting him to share the meaning, "•X, the unknown variable•Æ, my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence) •A-12 = precursor to SR-17 (our favorite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent + (A=Archangel, my favorite song) (metal rat)."

While his six other children may not have the same amount of variables as their younger brother, they still have traditionally unique names.

Although he’s gone on to date a long list of Hollywood stars like Amber Heard and Cameron Diaz, his older children are shared with first wife Justine Wilson.

According to The Sun, Musk’s fatherhood journey alongside his ex-wife started back in 2000. The two welcomed their son Nevada but tragically lost him to sudden infant death syndrome.

Following their loss, the pair had twin sons Xavier and Griffin who were followed by triplets Damian, Saxon, and Kai.

While Musk doesn’t share much about his sons, ex-girlfriend Heard gave fans a glimpse into his family life on Instagram. The post included a series of photos of a cute family outing between the couple and children.

It might not be a common occurrence for Musk to share information about his older children, but the celeb took it upon himself to share photos of his newborn son with the world just hours after his birth.

The photos included one that featured the sleeping newborn with a tattoo filter on his face and another of the 48-year-old cradling his son.

Musk and Grimes started their relationship back in 2018 through Twitter. After announcing her pregnancy in January, she confirmed with Rolling Stone that Musk was the father in March.

He’s yet to share any more photos of the newborn but assured his followers that X Æ A-12 is, “Happy, healthy & cute as a button.”
