Grimes Reveals She & Elon Musk Changed Their Baby’s Name To Obey California Laws (VIDEO)

The baby's got a new name! Grimes and Elon Musk had to change X Æ A-12's legal name in order to comply with laws in California. The Canadian singer revealed the tiny change to her first born's moniker with fans on Instagram.
The coupleearlier this month, with the Tesla CEO quick to share snaps of the newborn and even shortly after the birth.
Confused fans speculated about just how to pronounce the three-part name, and it seemed that even the new parents.
Musk clarified thatand explained during an interview with Joe Rogan that it's said "X Ash A-12". Meanwhile, on Instagram that it's pronounced "X A.I."
However, it seemshave more to worry about than just the pronunciation.
According to CNN, the state constitution in California only allows for "26 alphabetical characters of the English language", putting the numerals in the baby boy's name on the no-go list.
Luckily, they came up with an alternative solution which Grimes explained to fans.
Responding to a follower who left a comment on her Instagram post saying, "Did you change the baby name because of Californian laws ? What is the baby’s new name?", the singer replied, "X Æ A-Xii."
It seems they changed the number 12 into Roman numerals in order to comply with state laws, which Grimes claims "Looks better tbh".
Still confused about how that dash made it into the baby's legal name? The 32-year-old explained to another fan that "one dash is allowed" to be included. Yet it is still pretty interesting that "Æ" made it into the legal moniker.
Grimes previouslybehind each part of the baby's name, writing that "A-12" is the "precursor to SR-17 (our favorite aircraft)". However, who meant to write "SR-71" after the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird.
He also told Rogan that was his only contribution, while the new mom came up with the rest.
