Jaden Smith Shaved His Head On Stage At VELD And Twitter Is Absolutely Roasting Him
"Was he having a Britney Spears moment?"
Long weekends are always an exciting time for Canadians, but I think we can all agree that long weekends in the summer months are totally superior. August long weekend brought plenty of reasons to party, from Drake's annual OVO Fest and Caribana to Veld Music Festival. Jaden Smith's VELD 2019 Performance included him shaving his head on stage (VIDEO).
If you're not familiar, Veld is an annual musical festival that went down from August 2 - 4 in Toronto's Downsview Park. This year's lineup was seriously stacked, featuring artists like Cardi B, Ski Mask the Slump God, Kygo, and Loud Luxury, just to name a few.
One highly anticipated performance this year came from Jaden Smith. The 21-year-old has always been known to push boundaries, especially when it comes to fashion and his appearance, and his Veld show was no exception.
The singer took the Hennessy Artistry Stage on Saturday, August 3 at 8:45 p.m., and proceeded to pull out a razor and buzz his head in front of a screaming crowd before bursting into a super animated performance of a song from his new album ERYS that had the audience singing along.
Although the audience appeared to be into Smith's crazy antics, people on Twitter definitely aren't feeling the same way about his Britney Spears moment:
This isn't the first time that Smith has publically pulled a unique hair stunt - a few years back he brought his cut-off dreadlocks to the Met Gala as an accessory, and he also shaved his head during his Lolapalooza performance, so fans of the singer weren't entirely surprised by his decision.
A good friend of Smith's and fellow performer, Tyler the Creator left a comment saying, "the fuck r u doing" on his Instagram post, so at least we know that his friends are looking out for him in case he does go into a Britney Spears-esque meltdown.
