It's Movember in March! Jim Carrey's Twitter account will be used to document a journey of growth. Of his beard, that is. The actor is using his time off work and away from others for what he calls a "meaningless transformation".

Normally the Newmarket born star's Twitter is used to post photos of his incredible artwork online. He has an interesting passion for mangoes, draws a lot of political art directed towards President Trump, and even recently painted a portrait of The Weeknd for his thirtieth birthday.

Now, we'll get to see the artist post updates following the growth of his beard. Maybe he'll even paint a portrait of himself in the end.

On the post, Carrey writes, "Day 1. I’m growing a beard until we all go back to work. I’ll post reg pics so you can marvel at the miracle of my meaningless transformation. Normally, I try to stay on the cutting edge of entertainment. Now I shall conquer the uncutting edge. Please join me. #letsgrowtogether".

This is just a little something to look forward to as we all practice safe social distancing and spend most of our time stuck inside. You can look out for more photos of the actor which he claims he'll post on his Twitter account.

This isn't the first time the actor has grown some killer facial hair.

He appeared on Saturday Night Live: 40th Anniversary Special back in 2015 with some nice scruff.

Then in 2017, he was on Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond with a bigger, salt-and-pepper look.

He also sported this giant beard in Dumb and Dumber To in 2014, which probably isn't very real.

Same with this killer moustache from this year's Sonic the Hedgehog.

A Twitter user also responded to Carrey's post with a throwback of one of his former beards.

The tweet got the attention of celebs including former Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide star Devon Werkheiser who shared a snap of his own beard in progress. As well as Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams who wrote, "gonna do this with my armpits xx".

According to Exclaim!, Carrey is set to begin a book tour in May for his new release Memoirs and Misinformation, with one stop in Vancouver on May 15. It's unclear whether the tour will go as planned due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
