Kylie Jenner Is Totally Threatened By Rihanna's Make-Up Line - Here's What We Know
When we first heard that, we have to admit, we were excited and skeptical at the same time. After the insane success of the FENTY creepers and FENTY fashion lines by Puma, there's no doubt that the make-up line was going to be incredible. Little did we know it was going to be such a massive success.
Rih teamed up with Kendo Brands, a stream of Sephora products that manufactures products for Kat Von D and Marc Jacobs Beauty. The decision to work directly with Sephora gave Rihanna a level of prestige that the queen deserves, while also associating her products with a high quality image.
Unlike Kylie Jenner or Kim Kardashian who dropped one product at a time - Kim with her contour sticks and Kylie with her lip kits - Rihanna decided to drop a whole line of products at once, including a Pro Filt'r Retouch Primer, Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Foundation (40 shades!!), Match Stix Matte & Shimmer Skinsticks (to be used as contour, highlight or concealer depending) Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter, Invisimatte Blotting Powder and her Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer.
Rihanna is already being praised for the high quality of her products - from the creaminess of her highlighters to the power of her blotting powder. And of course, the most important aspect of the line has to be her 40 shades of foundation, making FENTY beauty accessible and wearable for everyone.
Kylie Jenner & Kylie Cosmetics have gone under scrutiny in the past for not only the quality of her products - she's been known to make her products look 10 times more pigmented in her famed Snapchat swatches - but also the packaging and distribution, with products arriving to customers' homes half empty (??) or extremely late. The brand is also debatably targeted more towards white women than any other ethnicity, as the brand's feed features predominantly white women.
Over the weekend, after the FENTY drop, Kylie not only released a new exxxxtra light highlighter but also unfollowed queen Rih on Instagram. Both of which were picked up and picked apart by serious Rihanna fans.
