It's always a special feeling for Canadians when celebrities visit our great country and seem to love it as much as we do. Even more so when those people are members of the royal family. New reports claim that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Christmas in B.C. with their adorable infant son, Archie, was filled with outdoor fun on Vancouver Island.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were wished a "quiet and blessed stay in Canada" by prime minister Justin Trudeau. "You’re among friends, and always welcome here," he wrote on Twitter.

With the knowledge that the little family would be spending their holidays in the great white north, many fans were curious about what they would get up to. We know we certainly were.

According to the Vancouver Sun, Meghan, Harry, and Archie spent their holidays in British Columbia doing what Canadians do best: exercising outside.

The Vancouver Sun spoke with Bev Koffel, the owner of the Deep Cove Chalet in North Saanich. Koffel said she has seen the couple before. She has also recently spoken to their security guards at her restaurant.

She also mentioned that Prince Harry has been hiking in B.C. at Horth Hill multiple times and that he and the Duchess have been seen jogging several times in the area.

Buckingham Palace released a statement that said the couple’s decision for their Christmas destination was made because of the importance of Canada, a Commonwealth country, to both of them.

“They are enjoying sharing the warmth of the Canadian people and the beauty of the landscape with their young son,” said the statement.

Though Bev Koffel is very fond of the royal couple and has seen them before, they did not end up eating at her restaurant as her husband turned down the reservation.

According to the Vancouver Sun, her husband chef Pierre Koffel answered the phone when the call for the reservation came in and he declined on account of the security that would be needed.

It's no surprise that the royals chose to spend the holidays near the province's capital city of Victoria, as it is beautiful and experiences fairly moderate temperatures during the winter, unline the rest of Canada.

Hopefully, the family was greeted with the warmth and hospitality that Canada's known for. Though, we don't doubt that for a single second.
