The royal family's Christmas celebrations at Sandringham Estate were short 3 family members this year after it was announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Vancouver vacation had been planned. The couple opted for a more Canadian holiday season for their son Archie's first Christmas, but it wouldn't have been possible without another Canadian celeb.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent the last few weeks enjoying all that the West Coast has to offer.

From hiking to booking dinner reservations at local restaurants, the couple and their newborn opted for a  vacation out of the limelight after months of negative media coverage

The family also took the time to visit Markle's best friend Jessica Mulroney, who she met when working in Toronto for seven years on Suits.

Markle was even caught offering her photography skills to a couple who was struggling to take a selfie.

However, their $14 million rented beach house estate wouldn't have been possible without Canadian music producer David Foster.

Foster, a B.C. native himself, has worked for big-time celebrities like Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, and Madonna. He was acquainted with the royal couple through his wife, Katharine McPhee, who was close friends with Markle in their high school years.

The entire vacation home rental was orchestrated through the 70-year-old Canadian. "The owner has allowed this to happen through me, and I was happy to facilitate."

He admitted to the Daily Mail how thankful he was to have helped them. “I felt honoured that I was able to help Meghan there because I’m a Canadian and we’re a commonwealth country, we’re the Crown’s."

Although he refused to reveal any more details on their trip, he did say it "was reinvigorating for them to spend some downtime.”

He ended off by proclaiming that their under the radar getaway in Vancouver is a "great testament" to his hometown of Victoria.
