Shay Mitchell has been extremely open about her pregnancy and parenthood journey with her fans. From documenting her experience on her YouTube channel to getting real about post-pregnancy problems on her Instagram, she's never been one to sugarcoat her new role. However, her most recent attempt at normalizing motherhood left some of her followers unhappy. Shay Mitchell's Instagram post breastfeeding received a ton of hate, but the You actress was quick to respond.

The post that had some haters up in arms was a glamorous photo of Mitchell, with her outfit unbuttoned, holding baby Atlas to her chest.

She captioned the photo with her usual sass and hilariousness penning, "Breast friends."

To start off, the post received tons of praise from both celebrity friends and fans alike.

Vanessa Hudgens even commented, "I mean come onnnnn😍."

While Hilary Duff related to the actress saying, "That's exactly what I looked liiiike !!! 😂."

However, for some, they thought the photo was a little too glamorous to be anything but an "attention getter."

Surprisingly, it was a fan of Mitchell's that provided the backlash writing, "I'm a fan of her, but this picture just says but it's an attention-getter. She's not even looking at the baby, she's not connected with the baby she's connected with the camera."

Mitchell, as usual, had the best response to the hate.

She let people know that parenting tips aren't exactly welcome when they're judgemental, "I missed the part in the baby book that stated I had to maintain eye contact with my daughter while she feeds rather than capturing an amazing moment we were having. Pls let me know where I can download your parenting manual, I'll get right on it!"

Of course, this isn't the first time since the birth of her daughter that the actress has had to put haters in their place.

Shortly after Atlas was born, the new mother was getting hate for attending Drake's birthday the week she gave birth.

If Mitchell and boyfriend Matte Babel have shown us anything on Instagram, it's their unconditional love for their daughter.
