Shonda Rhimes New Netflix Show Is Based On A Fake-Socialite Scam Artist And It Sounds Amazing
Inspired by true events!

Shonda Rhimes is the queen of evening television creating hits like Scandal and Greys Anatomy, but her newest series seems like it is equally as exciting as anything else. Working with Netflix, Rhimes has announced that she is creating a show inspired by the real-life crimes of Anna Delvey.
Anna Delvey is one of the biggest scam artists of all time, faking a trust-fund socialite lifestyle that ended up with her being charged with grand larceny and theft of services. She's currently being held in Rikers Island without bond because of the crimes that she committed across the city.
Delvey, seen above, used her false cheques and documents to apply for loans to withdraw thousands of dollars in cash. She was planning on opening a club and found herself in a very exclusive circle of trust-fund friends. One friend described Anna as "a beautiful night in New York, one where the night never seems to end," yet it always does and the bill arrives.
The show would focus on the many scandals that followed Delvey's life, whose real name is actually Anna Sorokin. Jessica Pressler of New York Magazine made the story larger than life this year and it's clear that Rhimes took interest in the scandal that took place.

Another major part of the production is the inclusion of Neffatari "Neff" Davis. Neff was the concierge of the 11 Howard hotel that Delvey resided in for months. The two became friends during her stay, so her direct knowledge of events means that the show would be accurate and interesting.
I am beyond excited to be able to be under Shonda’s wings. A true Shero for me. Thank you all for believing in me! https://t.co/cE5h93G7cs

Though it's not confirmed how Neff is involved, she did tweet out that she was excited about joining Rhimes on the project. An interesting part of her role is that Neff was working on projects while friends with Delvey, something that she promised to help fund with her fraudulent funds.
No date is set for this production as it has just been announced but with Shonda Rhimes taking part you know, it's going to be good. We're going to be reading everything about Anna Delvey we can find until then.
