Actors always say they draw inspiration from their own personal lives in order to really create the character they play on screen. But we never really hear about actors who take inspiration from their on-screen characters and use them in their own lives. Apparently some hit comedies characters are super deep. The Good Place's Manny Jacinto proposed to his fiancé but only after consulting his onscreen character first.\nThe Good Place cast was together at a fan panel this past weekend at the Vulture Festival when Jacinto revealed the news that he was recently engaged.\nHe did admit, however, that he had a really tough time deciding how to propose to his longtime girlfriend, "I was toying when to pop the question for a long time."\nIt wasn't until he was on set one day playing Jason that he gained the confidence he needed. During a scene, one of Jason's lines that had to do with his onscreen relationship with Janet (D'Arcy Carden), prompted his decision.\nView this post on Instagram ❤️ . 📸: @navidcharkhi A post shared by Manny Jacinto (@mannyjacinto) on Jun 1, 2019 at 6:46pm PDT\n"I looked at the Janet and Jason relationship, and there's a sentence that Jason says to Chidi about relationships and it hit me pretty hard. I thought it was a sign that I needed to do it, and a week later I popped the question."\nHe didn't just propose, he made a huge event out of it, "I took her to places that really meant a lot to us," he shared. "Where I first met her, where I first saw her, where we had our first date, and where we had our first dance class."\nIt doesn't just stop there, Jacinto totally revealed his romantic side at the panel,\nView this post on Instagram He bought a film camera. ❤️ A post shared by Dianne Doan (@dianneldoan) on Apr 1, 2019 at 6:28am PDT\n"I had these canvas things written down with a message saying why the places were important to us. At every location I had her close her eyes, I’d hold up the canvas, and she would open her eyes. I took her through five different places, and at the last place I had our families waiting and I proposed."\nThis may be the cutest proposal we've ever heard.\nWe can't help but think this may be a hint at what's coming for Jason and Janet onscreen as well.\nJacinto's fiancé is his long-time girlfriend Dianne Doan who also happens to be a Canadian actor.\nShe's starred in productions like Warrior and Descendants 3. Another iconic Canadian celeb couple to add to the books!\nThe Good Place is currently airing it's fourth and final season.\nThere are stories everywhere.
