7 Toronto Hotspots Meghan Markle Often Visited While Filming “Suits”

The royal couple's split from the Queen has left many wondering where in Canada their family will relocate to and the Duchess of Sussexes former home is a potential place. The actress was in seven seasons and over 100 episodes of Suits, adding up to almost a decade of her life spent living in the city. Meghan Markle's Toronto life included bars, a yoga studio, and vintage shopping.
According to E! News, the actress "was still in her twenties when she moved into her three-bedroom pad in Toronto's Annex neighbourhood".
In a 2016 Toronto Star interview with Markle, she told them that she didn't get her role on Suits until two years after she lived here. So she enjoyed the Canadian lifestyle even before work had her make a home there.
Trinity Bellwoods Park
The former actress is also an animal lover who adopted two rescue dogs while living in the city. The pups named Guy and Bogart needed daily walks so she often took them to Trinity Bellwoods Park located near her home in The Annex.
According to Vanity Fair, the star's mother Doria Ragland is a yoga instructor and her daughter took up the hobby too. The news outlet wrote that she would practice Moksha in the downtown core. The chain has tons of locations across Toronto.
Fairmont Royal Hotel
One of the most beautiful hotels in the city was once reportedly a vacation spot for Markle and Prince Harry back in 2017.
According to Hello! Magazine, the two "stayed at the Fairmont Royal York hotel, which has housed several members of the British royal family since it opened in 1929." Vanity Fair also wrote that the same location served as the Plaza in season six of Suits when Rachel was planning her wedding.
Soho House Toronto
The Royal couple were introduced to each other by Markle's friend Markus Anderson, Toronto-based consultant for private members-only clubs Soho House, according to IMDb. After that, E! News reported that the two would meet for nights out at the club thanks to her friendly connections.
The 38-year-old liked to frequent this boutique for cute and unique finds. However, in 2016 the Queen Street West store closed its doors "after 20 years and [is] going online" according to CBC.
The tapas bar on College Street was a favourite by the former Hollywood actress. In an article by Hello! Magazine from November 2016, they reported that in addition to Bar Raval, she also frequented "Dailo, Bar Isabel and the recently shuttered Harbord Room."
