Montreal born The Bachelor star, Vanessa Grimaldi, just opened up in a recent podcast interview that she really didn't want Nick Viall to propose to her until they got to know each other better. Who can blame her? The two barely knew each other during the filming of the show but most rose ceremonies also follow with an engagement. In the interview, Vanessa Grimaldi shared that she didn't want to get engaged to Nick Viall on the season finale of the show.\nGrimaldi was a guest with her Bachelor in Paradise costar and close friend, Taylor Nolan on her podcast “Let’s Talk About It With Taylor Nolan". The episode was titled "Break Ups Are A Blessing" and it aired early this morning. The theme of their conversations were, you guessed it, the fact that breaking up can be a blessing and isn't always a curse. Grimaldi got deep into her former relationship with Viall and reflected on the fact that she felt pressure to accept his proposal.\nUS Weekly reported that during the conversation that Grimaldi had with Viall, she asked him if it would be better if they continued an off-camera relationship after the show ended and then got engaged once they were ready. But of course, the show didn't air that conversation so viewers had no idea what was going on behind the scenes.\nGrimaldi and Viall's engagement was hot for a while, especially when Viall posted photos on Instagram featuring the absolute rock that he proposed to her with. Remember when these photos were the hottest thing on the internet?\nView this post on Instagram Holy shit she said yes!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️. It's been a journey Bachelor Nation!! @vanessagrimaldi30 I love you!! #thebachelor A post shared by Nick Viall (@nickviall) on Mar 13, 2017 at 8:07pm PDT\nThe relationship was very short-lived, ending only five months after the proposal. Obviously, everyone was shocked and heartbroken by the announcement, but now we know that there were hidden reasons behind their separation.\nGrimaldi said that the couple "would've broken up sooner" if it wasn't for the ring on her finger keeping them feeling obligated to stay together. Grimaldi also said, "I wouldn’t have said yes if I didn’t picture him as someone that I could’ve potentially grown with." As well as the issue of facing backlash if the show ended without an engagement.\nSince the theme of the podcast was on the good parts of breakups, the 32-year-old shared how happy she is with her new beau, Josh Wolfe. The two met when Wolfe slid into her DMs, which obviously would have never happened if Grimaldi didn't have internet fame from The Bachelor. She posts tons of photos of the two of them together and is looking happier than ever.\nView this post on Instagram The Friday feels 😄#tgif A post shared by Vanessa Grimaldi | MTL (@vanessagrimaldi30) on Aug 23, 2019 at 2:20pm PDT\nHer most recent photos with Wolfe shows them hugging in a forest, and her caption says that she "Took a few days off social media to reconnect & recharge. And earlier in the year, US Weekly reported that Viall and his former The Bachelor ex, Kaitlyn Bristowe, are on messy terms over three years after their split.\nSometimes everything does happen for a reason and it's so good to see Grimaldi being totally honest about her past relationship and even better to see her so happy in her new one!\nThere are stories everywhere.
