Living through the 2000s was an interesting ride. We saw the rise of the iPhone, spent our nights on MSN, and listened to a lot of Canadian artists that really aren't around anymore. Canadian artists like Nelly Furtado. Her songs "I'm Like a Bird" and "Promiscuous" defined an era. Despite her impact on the music scene during these years, she slowly started to fade from the spotlight. So where is Nelly Furtado now?

Nelly Furtado was born and raised in British Columbia where she eventually got into music and rose to fame in 2000 with her album "Whoa, Nelly!." Despite having sold 40 million albums worldwide, she's taken on other projects throughout her career.

Her latest album was actually released back in 2017 titled, "The Ride", but never reached the calibre of fame that her earlier albums did.

Instead of focusing intently on music like at the beginning of her career, Furtado while raising her daughter Nevis, transitioned into acting as well. She worked on the rom-com A Date with Miss Fortune back in 2016 and has even appeared in episodes of CSI: NY

Recently, instead of focusing on music and acting, the pop star has been involved in a lot of philanthropic work. She's a member of the charity Artist Against Racism, even hosting fundraising events with fellow celebs Justin Timberlake and Alicia Keys.

While there haven't been any updates on new albums or songs being released, there was an unfortunate update about her past recordings. Nelly Furtado was one of the artists who got their work destroyed in the 2008 Universal Studios fire

As you can probably tell, the Canadian celeb hasn't really been up to much in regards to Hollywood these days. The good thing is though that her success in the early 2000s is still making sure she's living her life of luxury. With her 40 million sold albums, her Grammy & Juno awards, and her star on the Canadian walk of fame, Furtado's net worth is still booming at $35 million.

While we wouldn't be opposed to a comeback album and potentially a tour, it seems like Nelly Furtado is just living life with her daughter in their British Columbia mansion
