Canadian Zoologist Confirms That All Of Santa's Reindeer Are Female
Yes, even Rudolph.
For hundreds of years, Christmas lovers around the world have believed that Santa's reindeers are male. The nine reindeer that valiantly fly his sleigh every year - Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolph - are depicted as males in many a Christmas movie. But these movies, while adorable and widely celebrated, aren't telling you the truth.

Andrew Hebda, a zoologist at the Nova Scotia Museum, told Metro News that while male and female reindeer do grow antlers, only the females keep them for the winter months. Male reindeer grow their antlers late spring to attract females throughout the year. Once mating season is over, come November/December, the males shed their antlers.
@granaryestatesFemale reindeers on the other hand keep their antlers in the winter time to scavenge through the snow for food. And look cool as hell when pulling Santa's sleigh through the sky. Hebda states, "Santa may have lots of male and female reindeer, but the nine flyers are girls."
