Showering is something you do on a regular basis, everyone has their own schedule for how often they do it but odds are you’re doing it at least multiple times a week. 

But some people’s skin is getting more out of their showers than others are. 

Not because of how often they shower, or what kinds of products they use but how they're showering.

Most experts agree that you should avoid hot showers as they can be damaging to your skin. 

Something you may know already if you’ve ever accidentally turned the tap on way too hot and wound up with red marks from the heat all over your body.

Lukewarm showers are actually the way to go if you want your skin to radiate and look amazing it seems. 

That’s because, “a cool rinse will help seal hair cuticles, resulting in shine and locking in moisture,” says dermatologist Whitney Bowe. 

There are other things you can do to help make your shower better as well.

One of these is to limit the amount of time you spend in the shower. 

Long showers dry out your skin much more than just jumping in for a quick rinse, so you’re better off with a 10 minute shower than a half hour marathon. 

Longer showers can also be incredibly damaging to your hair as well, so they’re best avoided all together.
