There are plenty of ways to remedy your break up woes, and the vast majority of them involve beer.  With the weekend fast approaching we’ve put a list of bars together that you need to hit up for some sweet drink deals and a bit of live music in order to take your mind off any any recent partners.

Drown your sorrows in well shots or free wings at one of the eleven awesome Halifax spots we’ve listed below!

The Dome // 1732 Argyle Street

Split Crow // 1855 Granville Street

For Friday night breakups, drown your sorrows in Saturday afternoon beers at The Split Crow during power hour!  From 4:30 to 5:30pm pints of Coors Light or Molson are only $2.50, so make sure you line up early to take advantage of this awesome deal.

Pacifico // 1505 Barrington Street

Some of the best DJ’s in Canada come through this Maritime Centre club.  If you’re looking for a real Halifax rave drop by Pacifico, grab a booth, order bottle service, lose at pool and dance the night away.

The Seahorse // 2037 Gottingen Street

Have one or eleven beers and sing through your tears along with one of the many talented local musicians that frequent this North End Halifax bar.  If you’re looking for a throwback to simpler times, attend The Seahorse on one of their retro dance nights for a massive party!

Reflections Cabaret // 5187 Salter Street

$2.50 well shots and $4 cover ensure that Reflections is the best place in Halifax to drink away the memories of your crappy ex.  Check their site to find out what events they have coming up, and party until 3:30am at one of the city’s few cabarets!

Gus’s Pub // 2605 Agricola Street

If you’re less in the dancing phase of your breakup and more looking for somewhere to brood, hit up Gus’s pub in the North End to nurse a beer while taking in some sweet live music.  Soothe your woes with some cash from the slot machines or laugh away your troubles at their Monday night stand-up comedy event!

The Lower Deck // 1887 Upper Water Street

Say you got dumped on a Friday and need to keep that weekend bender going.  Fear not, Sundays at The Lower Deck are their most popular night!  Take in some live tunes from Signal Hill or jam out with the DJ upstairs – however you decide to party just make sure you arrive early to beat the line.

Timber Lounge // 2712 Agricola Street

If you’re looking to get a little aggression out of your system, book some time at the Timber Lounge: Halifax’s premium craft beer and axe throwing bar.  Begin your warrior career by whipping some axes across the room at a target, before trying the beer of course.

The Argyle // 1575 Argyle Street

This downtown Halifax club invites some pretty amazing DJ's to play their incredible outdoor patio every summer.  The themed parties hosted on their lower levels are also a great place to meet someone if you’re rebounding from a tough breakup.

The Halifax Alehouse // 1717 Brunswick Street

Yes the drinks at Alehouse are awesome, and yes the bar is located right downtown in a beautiful historic property BUT I think the best way to erase all memory of your former partner is by indulging in their FREE chicken wing appetiser.  Yes, you read that right.  On select Wednesdays with the purchase of one beverage Alehouse patrons are entitled to 12 free chicken which is almost better than a relationship imo.

The Toothy Moose // 1661 Argyle Street

If country music is your thing or you just want to party until 3 in the morning try jamming out at the Toothy Moose Cabaret next time you’re looking to meet someone new.  They also have an amateur stand up comedy night that you won't want to miss!
