It's no surprise that Canadians love their ice cream all year round - especially once the weather finally starts warming up. There's nothing quite like a few tasty, perfectly churned scoops sitting on a sweet cone to make you smile and ring in the return of sunshine and the exit of huge coats.

After Nova Scotia revealed that they had a secret flavour, it's now been discovered that PEI is home to the best ice cream in Canada, and no one even knew! COWS Ice Cream is a company that started at the Cavendish Boardwalk in PEI back in 1983. Now with over 32 original flavours available, the ice cream definitely speaks for itself.

Each heavenly scoop contains all-natural ingredients like butterfat, eggs, and cream. The company believes that the key to delicious ice cream is making it the old-fashioned way. Luckily for us, that means every scoop is served in a waffle cone made in-house.

They serve typical favourites like chocolate, cookie dough, and strawberry (using fresh PEI berries!), but they also offer delicacies such as chunky chocolate mint, royal cownadian mint, and sea salted toffee. Their gourmet flavours look divine and are perfect if you want a twist on a modern classic.

What really counts, though, are their unique blends you can only find at COWS. Flavours like the Messie Bessie, which is chocolate ice cream mixed with moo crunch, Oreo cookie, and English toffee. Another fan favourite is the Gooey Mooey, which is made with burnt sugar ice cream (made when vanilla and English toffee get mixed together), English toffee marble, caramel cups, and chocolate flakes.

Honestly, their selection is endless, and there's something for everyone. Green tea, banana bread, cheesecake? You name it, they have it. And they do it the best.

Now, if you don't get out to PEI much, there's some good news for you! The best ice cream in Canada is also available all over the country. With locations in Ontario, Nova Scotia, Alberta, and British Columbia, there's still hope for some of us to get our hands on this glorious treat!

I mean, seriously, where else could you get a delicious, homemade waffle cone for free? So if you aren't planning a trip to PEI any time soon, check to find the location nearest you and ENJOY!
