During the summer, travellers come from all over the world to vacation across the country, just to get a glimpse of our most beautiful cities. Of course, it's not always so cheap. There are definitely some Canadian cities that are a bit more expensive than others.
According to a survey conducted by CheapHotels.org, these are the top five most expensive places to stay during the summer in Canada. This survey was conducted by comparing the hotel rates of 30 Canadian destinations for August 2018.
#1. Banff, Alberta
Canadians spend on average $336 CAD per night.
If you didn't already know, Banff is literally one of the most beautiful places on Earth. There's no surprise that it took the top spot on this list. If you're staying in Banff, then you may have opted to stay overnight at the historic (and very expensive) Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel which is located in Banff National Park and overlooks the Bow Falls. The views from the iconic hotel are literally breathtaking.
#2. Vancouver, B.C.
Shocking. Travellers spend approximately $324 CAD per night.
We're not that surprised that Vancouver took the second spot in this list, especially considering it's.
Not only is Vancouver drop-dead gorgeous, but it's also the temporary home to tons of celebs. The stars of Riverdale are currently filming their latest season and they've been spotted all over the city! If that's not reason enough to visit Van, then we don't know what is.
#3. Canmore, Alberta
The average cost per night is $316 CAD.
Canmore is located in the Rocky Mountains, which is situated west of Calgary. It's known for its huge summits like the Three Sisters and Ha Ling Peak. Close by are also serene turquoise blue lakes that are totally #InstagramWorthy. This town is also very close to Banff.
#4. Richmond, B.C.
Coming in at $236 CAD per night.
Richmond is just south of Vancouver and has become a major metropolitan area in recent years. The area has really developed and real estate in this area is a hot commodity. It's also home to thewhere you can try tons of crazy and delicious foods.

Per night, staying at Niagara will cost you $235 CAD.
Niagara Falls is one of the most well-known landmarks in all of Canada, so we're not surprised it took fifth place. People travel from all over to come see the amazing falls. It's definitely worth the trip, but it will definitely cost ya!
