It's the little things matter.

Sometimes, all you need is one small moment of winning to save a really blah day. A nice conversation with a stranger, an unexpectedly good meal, or just making it out of your house on time will immediately put a smile on your face. Toronto's got its ups and downs, and there are certain hurdles that Toronto life throws at you that can be a bit of a pain. So when you bypass those hurdles, or just randomly lifehack the city by accident, everything feels so so right.
The TTC Getting It Right
Every once in a while, you have one of those days where the TTC just works for you. Your bus gets there on time, and as soon as it drops you off at the station, there's a train waiting for you. There's no delays, no slow-downs, and you actually get to where you need to be on time. What a wonderful world!
Finding A Brunch Place Closer To Home Than You Were Expecting
One of the great things about this city is that a lot of your favourite bars become restaurants in the day time. Nothing's better than leaving your house to go to a brunch place a little ways away, only to find out that the bar down the street is serving brunch from 11 till 4. No need to brave the cold!
Catching The LCBO/Beer Store/Wine Rack Before They Close
This is pretty make or break. If you didn't plan your alcohol consumption earlier in the day, there's nothing better than finding out that the alcohol distributor near you is still open for another 10 minutes, and you can totally catch it if you leave right now!

Getting Someone At Bistro 422 To Make Eye Contact With You
This is so rare that it's basically on the level of finding a unicorn or a four-leaf clover. Go you!
Actually Finding Your Friends At The Urban Eatery
That place is so packed all the time, being able to actually coordinate meeting people is a nightmare. If you can get this done without it being a hassle, it'll make your meal (and your day) 400 times better.
Not Having To Line Up At Aunties And Uncles
This place is super cozy, and the food is amazing, but that combination basically means that there's always going to be a line out the door. On the occasions when you don't have to be a part of that, your breakfast tastes that little bit sweeter.
Catching The Last Train Home
Sometimes you gamble a little bit and decide to stay out later than you should. So when that happens, there's really nothing better than realizing that you don't have to wait outside in the cold for a streetcar like a cretin.
Unexpected Park-Sitting Weather
We only get so many warm weather days up in the T-dot. Every once in a while, you'll get an unseasonably warm day in the middle of November, and when that happens everyone runs to Trinity Bellwoods or Christie Pitts with their guitars and picnic blankets to catch the rays. The chances of that happening this year are slim, but we can always hope...

Getting To Pick Up Dinner At Kensington Market On Your Way Home
There's endless yummy food options up in this 'hood, so any opportunity to get some in your life on a random weekday should be taken.
Finding A Token On The Ground
Nothing cheers a Torontonian up like getting a free ride on the expensive TTC. The best part is that it always looks like a regular old dime at first, but once you get a closer look, you realize you've hit gold. The flip side of this is that tokens are ridiculously easy to lose, and super annoying.
