It's almost here, the day every retail worker dreads. Besides Boxing Day, Black Friday holds its position for a retail workers worst nightmare. Floods of people, demanding customers, overall feeling of being overwhelmed - need I say more? If you've never worked retail before but you have shopped on Black Friday, you can see for yourself how hectic the day can potentially become.

Your managers treat this day as if you're suppose to look forward to it - are they clinically insane? This isn't fun. In fact, it's draining. But what's the holiday season without these annual staples?

Here are 17 struggles every retail worker knows to be true on Black Friday.

1.You're mentally preparing for a week.

Once the date comes closer, you can't help but imagine how the day will go. As positive as you may want to be, you know it's going to be a shit show.

2. Until Black Friday, customers don't stop asking what deals you're going to have.

To be honest, I don't know. Nobody really knows until a few days before. But you just need to smile and encourage them to come shopping because well- the deal is going to be "amazing".

 3. You either have an extremely early morning shift or a late shift...maybe both.

Maybe you start at 5am or end at 12am, my point is the extended hours really kick your ass.

4. Dealing with 727161881 customers at a time.

Look, I really wish I can help all of you but unfortunately I've only been given two hands and one brain.

5. Trying to tell a customer that we don't do refunds or exchanges on Black Friday.

It's just logic people. We barely have enough time to cater to your needs efficiently, what makes you think I can do a refund at this very moment? Sorry, not sorry.

6. Explaining to a customer that we just sold out of a product.

I don't benefit from not giving you a product we just sold out of, we actually don't have it! Me checking the back won't change a damn thing.

7. Keeping the store organized is a mission sent from hell.

If this doesn't contribute to being overwhelmed then I don't know what does.

 8. Yelling across the store to communicate with your coworker.

It's basically a war zone.

9. Repeating yourself over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

I'm pretty sure I said what our deal was 100 times. Considering it's part of our job to let each and every customer know our special, it becomes super annoying.

10. Customers asking for a gift receipt AFTER the transaction has been completed.

Are you kidding me? Now I have to go back into the system...

11. Investing time with a customer who decides they aren't going to buy anything.

Oh....okay, lol.

12. "Everything in the store has a discount, right?"

For the trillionth time, NO.

13. You're stuck listening to the same songs over and over again.

I don't want to listen to All I Want For Christmas by Mariah Carey again!

14. "Can you tell me how much this will all come up to, including tax?"

Yeah sure, if my brain was a calculator.

15. Clothes. Clothes everywhere.

Piles on messy piles (after you've folded them a million times already) and clothes everywhere in the fitting rooms - they might as well be set on a fire.

16. The store is about to close and customers are still walking in.

We have extended hours for a reason, don't come in when they have finally ended.

17. Forcing a smile and holding back tears become part of your job.

"Hi, welcome to ____" *cringe*

Good luck retail workers, may the odds be ever in your favour.
