If you love living in the lap of luxury and happen to be local to the GTA we have some excellent news for you. The Quebec-based company Groupe Nordik, that is responsible for owning and operating the largest spa in North America, has decided to expand their wildly popular nordik spa experience into Whitby. And thankfully for all of us, they broke ground on the build this past June and have an expected opening date of summer 2019. They also gave us some insight on just what their Whitby Nordik Spa-Nature spa will offer up to its clientele. Exterior & Aerial View: Via whitby.lenordik Via whitby.lenordik. Via whitby.lenordik. The massive relaxation centre will be an impressive 385,423 sq. ft. which roughly equals to 8 football fields, just to put that into perspective, and once up and running should be able to take in 1,100 customers a day. The spa will use the existing nature in Cullen Central Park in Whitby (where the spa is located) to create the natural and blended aesthetic for the decor throughout the exterior of the spa. Relaxation Area: Via whitby.lenordik Via whitby.lenordik Via whitby.lenordik Via whitby.lenordik The Nordik Spa-Nature Whitby will also have large areas just solely dedicated to relaxing and hanging out with your group/ other guests. This includes a community fire pit, hammocks, private rest areas and lounge chairs scattered across the property. Allowing for both silent and social areas to spend your time. Hot & Cold Baths + Falls Via whitby.lenordik Via whitby.lenordik Via whitby.lenordik One major feature the spa boasts is their 5 outdoor pools and a waterfall as well as the thermal cycle therapy they promote. This therapy consists of going into a hot sauna for 5-15 minutes, then a cold pool for 10-15 seconds, followed by a 20-minute rest phase just spent hanging out on the ground. According to the spa, it should be done 3 times in order to get maximum benefits. Which won't be hard to do with the multiple pools and saunas on the facility. Salt Floating Area Via whitby.lenordik Via whitby.lenordik One very trendy treatment of late is salt rooms and float tanks and of course, Nodik Spa-Nature is including a room fully dedicated to saltwater aqua therapy. The Källa Treatment (what they call this room) is a large Epsom saltwater pool house in a craved rock basin. The treatment is said to be good for destressing, healing and stimulating creativity. Saunas Via whitby.lenordik Via whitby.lenordik Via whitby.lenordik Via whitby.lenordik Like mentioned above the spa will have a variety of saunas in-house. They range from dry and steam saunas and there will be a total of 7 on site (6 that are more private and 1 that has more of a community bathhouse feel). Via whitby.lenordik Via whitby.lenordik Via whitby.lenordik Some other exciting features include 2 on-site restaurants, various spa services, and of course massage and body care rooms. The Spa as mentioned is being built within Whitby's Cullen Central Park which is located at 300 Taunton Rd E, Whitby, ON L1N 5R5. Like mentioned above, the spa is slated to open next summer in 2019.
