We're finally approaching the summer months! It's time to start planning your summer schedules with your S.O. I mean, you could sit at home all day and binge watch Netflix together if you wanted to, but you'd be missing out on all the cool things you could be doing around the city this time of year. When the weather's this nice, you have to get out and do something! If you're stuck on ideas on where to take your girlfriend this summer, there's no need to worry, we're here to help you out. 1. Take her out to brunch You wouldn't be a true Torontonian if you didn't enjoy brunch! Treat your girlfriend to delicious breakfast food. Check out our list for cool brunch spots. 2. Take her to see the skyline on a rooftop patio What's more romantic than taking your girl to see a whole new world and a new fantastic point of view? Take her to see a film at TIFF Bell Lightbox Instead of going out to see all the latest Hollywood movies, try something different and check out a film at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. Here's their current schedule and here's what's coming soon. 4. Take her to Toronto's Festival of Beer Do you both love beer? Grab a pair of tickets for Toronto's Festival of Beer, happening July 24th to 26th at the Ex! 5. Take her to an art gallery You can stroll hand in hand and admire art together. If she hasn't been, take her to the AGO. There's also a gallery at Harbourfront, and plenty of others galleries all around the city. 6. Take her on a historical journey at a museum There are plenty of museums around the city. If she hasn't been, take her to the ROM. If she loves shoes, take her to the Bata Shoe Museum. Take her to play board games at a board game café Do either of you have a competitive side? Take her to Snakes and Lattes or Snakes and Lagers to play some board games and have some drinks. 9. Take her to see Canada Day fireworks What's cuter than watching fireworks together under the stars? 10. Take her on a dinner cruise on Lakeshore If you have an anniversary coming up or you just feel like taking her out on a nice date, take her on a dinner cruise. You'll get a fantastic view of the skyline while eating delicious food. 11. Take her to Salsa dance the night away Do you both enjoy dancing? Check out the Salsa on St. Clair street festival on July 4th, 5th, and 11th. It's a celebration of Latin culture. It's free and you get to dance on the streets! 12. Take her to Canada's Wonderland Are you both adventurous ride warriors? Spend a day at Wonderland and see who loses their voice first. You probably won't be able to get her there with a magical carriage but you can get her there with the subway. It's easily accessible from Dupont Station! 14. Take her on a ferry to the Toronto Islands It's not everyday that you get to take a ferry. Spend a day at the Toronto Islands and watch the sunset over the skyline. You can even have a little picnic if you want. 15. Take her exploring in Kensington Market Go exploring around the city with her and maybe take some cool pictures! 16. Take her to go people watching It seems creepy but it's actually really fun. Try it and you'll see. Here are some good spots to go people watching. 17. Take her to a botanical garden If she loves flowers and gardens, take her to the Toronto Botanical Garden or Allan Gardens. Enjoy the sights and smells of all the gorgeous exotic plants. They're cute places to take cute pictures together as well. 19. Take her out for a nice meal at Summerlicious Eating out can get expensive. Take advantage of Summerlicious with their prix fixe menus that make nice meals a lot more affordable. This year’s Summerlicious is happening July 3rd to 26th. Book your reservations! 20. Take her to a food festival There are tons of food festivals happening all around the GTA this summer, both free admission and ticketed. Here are a few cool ones to check out! 21. Take her to a drive-in movie Grab some blankets, pack some snacks, and take her to The Docks Drive-In Movie Theatre at Polson Pier to catch a flick under the stars. 22. Take her to pet cute doggies If she's a pooch lover, take her to the Poochella dog festival at Trinity Bellwoods Park. If either of you have a dog, you can snap some pics and create some gifs at the pooch photobooth. There'll also be a pooch show for you to see all the cute dogs. Take her to a park for a picnic Probably not a good idea if either of you hate bees (those nasty little stingers). If you're stuck on ideas on where to take her, this list should help you out. 24. Take her to see some buskers at Buskerfest Is your girlfriend into carnivalesque things? Buskerfest brings in a whole bunch of amazing performers to T.O every year. Also, all proceeds from donations go towards Epilepsy Toronto, which is really awesome. It's happening August 27th to 30th this year. 25. Take her to the Ex Ah, the event made for adorable couples and families is returning for yet another summer. The CNE is open from August 21st to September 7th. Ride the ferris wheel to see a wicked view of the skyline!
