8 Stereotypes About Toronto That Just Aren’t True
#2 We all love Drake.

Toronto gets a lot of undeserved hate. Because we are the biggest city in Canada, everyone feels the need to take us down a peg. Why, I have no idea. I may be biased but some of the nicest people I have ever met are born and raised Torontonians. The things people say about our fine city and the people in it are straight up silly. And I for one, am sick of it.
1. We’re Snobby
Toronto is great, and we’re not afraid to admit it. Does that make us snobby? Absolutely not. Just because we can appreciate our own city doesn't mean we have an inability to appreciate others.
2. We All Love Drake
Yeah no. What I will say is that everyone has an opinion on Drake, but not all of them are good. It’s like saying all Montrealers love Celine Dion.
3. We Act Like Americans
Torontonians are much more patriotic than people think we are. I wouldn't want to become an American. You have to pay for healthcare and there’s no Timmies. That doesn't sound like a good time.

4. We’re Gym Rats
We like to keep fit but we don’t all do it at the gym. If you walk around for a bit you’ll see bikers, runners and yogis in the park. Why would we confine ourselves to a smelly gym when we can make the city our playground?
5. It’s Too Commercial
Clearly you've been spending too much time at Yonge and Dundas. The majority of the city is fresh and alive with culture. Just step away from the Eaton Centre and explore. Then you’ll understand.
6. All The Students Go To U of T
While U of T has a lot of people who attend their institution, there are also so many other opportunities for higher education. Ryerson, George Brown, York and Sheridan to name a few.
7. Everything Is Expensive
Let me get something straight, rent is expensive. And the TTC. But that’s about it. If you mosy around, you’ll find Toronto has a lot of resources you can use to save money.
8. We All Love The Leafs
Our trust has been compromised too many times. If they pick themselves up next season, then maybe we’ll talk.
