Hiring For The Canada Summer Jobs Program Starts Today & There Are Thousands Of Positions

Summer is approaching, and students will need to look for work. The Canada Summer Jobs program for 2020 has officially started. There are thousands of positions for young Canadians open for applications across the country.
During his May 15 address, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the beginning of the program, advising students and recent graduates to check out the postings on jobbank.gc.ca.
He also stated that thousands of other positions will be added in the coming weeks.
"Tell your friends about it too, if they don't already know," Trudeau said. "There are lots of opportunities available."
A current search on the Job Bank section for young Canadians turns up an impressive 13,320 results across the country, with the majority of them being in Ontario.
There are also plenty of job openings in the social and community service sector, for those who want to make a difference close to home.
Some of these jobs include working with younger groups, such as being a youth development coordinator.
Others may involve helping those in need by working as a social services assistant with Ronald McDonald House.
The job search can be made easier using the filters on the government's website. Applicants can choose a field, location, and whether they want jobs primarily in English or French.
There are also jobs available specifically in fields helping in the fight against COVID-19 and providing essential.
While looking for a job could still be difficult during this time, the government is also accepting applications for thestarting today.
Students who choose to do volunteer work instead can also receive the. This provides up to $5,000 toward tuition for those who choose to help out in their community.
