It’s time to update your resumes because a popular company is opening up a new centre in B.C. and they are hiring tons of people. According to Rogers, they are opening a new call centre in Kelowna next summer hiring to fill 350 new jobs. The company has stated that over time, this will grow to 500 new jobs that will be well compensated. Hiring will start very soon so here’s what you need to know. 

Apparently, a lot of businesses in Canada are searching for hundreds of staff members this year. McDonald's even hired over 400 positions in B.C. earlier this year. 

One of the most recent corporations to follow this lead is Rogers Communications. 

According to a press release posted online by Rogers, a new massive call centre is opening up in the Okanagan. Located in Kelowna, this centre will aim to build upon the existing centre already located in Burnaby. 

CBC News has stated that Rick Sellers, president of the B.C. region for Rogers Communications, chose Kelowna following an intense analysis of the region. According to Sellers, there are plenty of workers in the area with the exact skills that Rogers requires. 

So start beefing up that resume and lining up your references. The 350 positions will start to be filled as early as spring 2020 and you won't want to miss this opportunity. 

According to Rogers, the new centre is expected to open in the summer of 2020. This means that recruitment efforts will start during the first quarter of 2020. 

The centre will be located in a gorgeous and convenient part of Kelowna that will convert a 32,000 square foot space into a “modernized centre.” Renovations are expected to begin in early 2020. 

We mean it when we say the centre will be located in a beautiful area. Known as the Landmark District, this growing work hub boasts everything you will need from grocery stores and restaurants to medical clinics and dental offices. You will literally never have to leave the area. 

Not to mention there are tons of housing opportunities in the area which means you could live literally steps away from work. 

Sellers told CBC News that there are a lot of talented people in Kelowna and there shouldn’t be a problem finding and compensating employees. 

While it’s a great job opportunity don’t expect it to be a walk in the park. According to Rogers, the team will handle around one million interactions every year. 

The nice thing is that living in Kelowna is a lot cheaper than living and working in places like Vancouver. Plus, you're in the heart of wine country.
