If you think you were made to sing and dance, then it's your time to audition because your big break could be here. A movie based on the musical 13 which famously starred singer Ariana Grande is coming to the city to film. And Toronto casting calls are now open until early March, so it's time to shoot your shot.\nThe broadway musical helped Grande get her big break, launching her TV career. And now it could be your chance.\nThe casting call asks for both male and female teenagers to play 13 people of a similar age. The characters will be awesome singers and are comfortable with movement, so if you want to apply then you will have to be, too!\nThis is where your dance skills are a must.\nThe story, in case you're not familiar, is about a 12-year-old kid from New York City who plans the ultimate Bar Mitzvah. It is then revealed that his parents are getting a divorce so his plans are completely fried and he now finds himself moving halfway across the country.\nHe has no friends and his parents are not on speaking terms so now he faces the dilemma of his epic Bar Mitzvah and making it into one he's always dreamed of.\nThe third call is for a person named "Archie" and their storyline is pretty descriptive.\nArchie, the character, lives across the street from Evan and Patrice in Walkerton. He has a love for the "nerd culture" and has an obsession with the head cheerleader at the school.\nArchie also needs to have some vocal talent.\nAccording to Variety, Neil Meron will be producing the Netflix film. Meron is well-known for his movies like Chicago, Hairspray, and Jesus Christ Superstar.\nTamra Davis will tag along as the director, notable for movies like Crossroads, Billy Madison, and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.\nThe original Broadway show 13 actually debuted back in 2005 and had an all-teenage cast which included Ariana Grande and Liz Gillies from the hit Nickelodeon show Victorious, via Variety.\nYou have until March 2 before the submissions are closed and production is expected to start in August.\nCasting calls are also being held in New York.\nThis is just the latest casting opportunity in the 6ix.
