Groundbreaking news for students (or wannabe students) everywhere: universities around the world have just launched new online courses for FREE.

Massive Open Online Courses, or MOOCs for short, is the collective name for the huge number of online courses offered by over 800 participating universities worldwide.

There are currently over 8,000 online courses available, and the latest additions to the list of MOOCs from 200 universities include courses in Computer Science, Mathematics, Programming, Data Science, Humanities, Social Sciences, Education,  Health & Medicine, Business, Art and the list goes on.

Most of these courses are offered for free, while others do have some fees associated with them. The courses are all available through Coursera, which is a global online education provider. Fees must be paid, however, for certificates achieved by completing Coursera courses. And be sure to keep a lookout for some classes that are pay-only courses, as those are listed on Coursera's site as well.

You can find the complete list of new online courses offered for free here.
