It's Getting Hot in Here View this post on Instagram Very late to the party on this one, but here are some of the greatest signs from the Newcastle Climate Strike. The turn out was absolutely fantastic. People were suggesting between 5-10,000 people attended this protest, which is incredible for a city of only 300,000 people. Newcastle never fails to surprise me, and I'm glad to see this zeal for climate action! ✊✊ . . . . . . . . #climatestrike #newcastle #australia #schoolstrike4climate #climatechange #climateaction #climatecrisis A post shared by Harry Drewer (@harrydrewer) on Sep 25, 2019 at 9:23pm PDT It's not true until Nelly says it's true. I’m always learning little ways in which I can change my actions to help stop the climate emergency we are facing. I’m lucky to be surrounded by such awesome friends who’ll always remind me to take my keep cup (thanks @travelling.ash ), separate my recycling (that’s all @nicoleguillon ), take reusable produce bags (@marczhe26 ) and to bring me along to these events (@especially_zoe ). Something that keeps me going is that we all just need to be doing our best, you don’t all of a sudden need to be a full-time vegan whose entire trash for a year fits in a jar. Be you! Be imperfect. Try. Eat vegetarian meals. Shop at an op shop. Don’t buy plastic water bottles. 🌱 And at the same time let’s demand better from the people in power. Tell them that we’re changing, so should they. 📷 @travelling.ash A post shared by Like A Local Travel (@likealocaltravel) on Sep 24, 2019 at 10:10pm PDT We can all relate to this sentiment. We may not be worthy of this beautiful planet, but we sure can try to keep it nice.
