Police in Laval Quebec have made a series of significant arrests to combat the sexual exploitation of minors.

The arrests come after what police call a “targeted operation” against the group of suspects accused of the crimes.

In total 7 men have been arrested for their role in what police say was the sexual abuse of minors.

The men range in age from 25 – 66 and all of them are from the greater Montreal region police say.

All 7 of the men were released from police custody after they signed a promise to appear in court in August later this summer.

If convicted they each face a minimum sentence of at least 6 months in prison for performing sexual acts with a minor.

Police do not say exactly how old any of the alleged victims of the men are, only that the group targeted minors.

Police also do not say when any of the alleged incidents between the group of men and minors took place.

Anyone who wishes to confidentially come forward to report any incidents that they or someone they know had with the group can call the Laval police’s Ligne-Info line at 450 662-INFO (4636) or by dialling 911.
