A Big House Explosion In Ontario Just Caused One Death And One Serious Injury
A house explosion has set off a major police investigation in Ontario.
A woman has been killed and a man airlifted to hospital after a house blew up in Kitchener Ontario today.
The explosion happened early this morning and has caused damage to many of the houses around it.
Here’s everything we know about it.
Police say the explosion occurred at around 9 a.m. this morning on Sprucedale Crescent in Kitchener.
Neighbours have been reported saying that they heard the explosion. When they quickly ran outside to see what was happening, drywall and other debris was raining down onto the street.
Much of that debris reportedly landed all over the road.
One woman died in the blast and an Ornge air ambulance was called to the scene to deal with other injured victims.
A male victim who was in the house at the time of the explosion was taken to the hospital in the air ambulance.
According to Ornge, around 10 people were inside the home at the time of the explosion.
Neither the name of the woman killed or the man taken to hospital has been released at this time.
The explosion caused some homes near the one that blew up to catch fire, and the fire department was called to put them out.
There's no word on what caused the explosion, but it is being treated as suspicious, police allege. The entire area is now being treated as a crime scene.
