An Alberta Gas Station Bathroom was crowned the fanciest bathroom in all of Canada this morning. The Cintas Canada’s Best Restroom Contest awarded Beaver Hill Gas Station as the number one restroom in all of Canada, with a reward of $2,500 worth of bathroom products and services. The Cintas Canada’s Best Restroom contest, which is now in its 10th year of running, chose the 2019 finalists and winner based on cleanliness, visual appeal, innovation, functionality and unique design elements. “The Beaver Hill Shell washrooms create a new rest-stop experience and raise the standard of gas station washrooms, so it’s not surprising that the public voted them number one,” said Candice Raynsford, Marketing Manager of Cintas Canada, in a press release. “It’s not often a public washroom turns out to be a highlight from your road trip, but we’re sure travellers from near and far will stop to see these award-winning facilities for themselves,” said Raynsford. Online voting was open to the public July 15 to August 16, and the five finalists of the contest included two bathrooms in Vancouver — Laurence and Chico Café, and Bauhaus Restaurant. Cosmos Café in Quebec City, and Cluny Bistro in Toronto were the other two finalists. Beaver Hill Shell Gas Station “We’re so grateful for the public’s support to help us earn the title of Canada’s Best Restroom,” said Mo Kabalan, owner and operator of Beaver Hill Shell, in a press release. The Beaver Hill Shell bathroom is truly a sight to behold. The glistening porcelain lavatories are designed details so luxurious they could belong in an Albertan mansion. Beaver Hill Shell Gas Station The bathroom features granite countertops, and mirrors rustically framed into wood. This look is further complemented by a herringbone pattern on the floor, as well as elegant saloon-style doors. Beaver Hill Shell Gas Station “We strive to offer travellers a nice space to relax before getting back on the road and we’re honoured to be recognized for the hard work and investment that we put into our washrooms,” continued Kabalan. Of course, Alberta needs to be careful about not losing this title because Montreal is another close competitor. There are stories everywhere.
