Canadian Filmed Shooting Fireworks At Swan Could Face Up To $100,000 In Fines & 2 Years In Jail (VIDEO)

A shocking and disturbing video has surfaced online that has gotten the attention of wildlife officials. This video shows an Alberta man shooting fireworks at a swan in a lake. Due to their actions, the person is now facing charges with serious repercussions.

Recently, a video captured a person shooting fireworks at a swan on a Grande Prairie lake. The video was taken at Crystal Lake Estates, which is within the Grande Prairie city limits.
The video has since been taken off of social media. However, CBC managed to get a copy of the shocking video.
In the video, you can see the unidentified man shoot multiple fireworks at a swan that is minding its own business in the local pond. The man in the video is also waving something around while he walks through the bushes tormenting the animals.
The fireworks just nearly miss the swan. You can also hear the man in the video shout “get out of here” while swatting at the lake.

While the bird was no doubt shocked by the fireworks, in the video, they do not appear to be hurt from the incident.
According to CBC, the man has now been charged under the Alberta Wildlife Act with hunting during closed season. Under the act, anyone who is found guilty of killing or disturbing a swan could be fined up to $100,000 and face a maximum of two years in jail.
Earlier this year, a similar incident took place when another Canadian was. The entire thing was caught on video and posted on a public Facebook group.
In the video, you can see the Victoria fisherman laugh while throwing the explosives into the middle of a large pack of sea lions. After the video as posted online, the Department of Fishers and Oceans was notified.
