An Albertan Stole A Car That Had A Dead Body In It And The Story Is Nuts
One Albertan got quite a shock from the van they stole.
Stealing is wrong, we all know that. Of course that doesn’t stop people from doing it everyday.
One thief in Alberta got a little bit more than they bargained for when they stole a van though.
Obviously, they just wanted the vehicle, what they got as a vehicle with a dead body in the back.
So how exactly did this person end up getting in a van and stealing a body as well?
The van was parked outside of Parkland Funeral Home in Red Deer on Tuesday morning.
The body of a man in the back of the van was on its way to the medical examiner, according to the RCMP.
At about 6:30 in the morning yesterday though the van disappeared from the parking lot.
Usually police respond to stolen vehicle calls with officers on the ground but here they went all out to try and find the van, even calling in a helicopter to help with the search.
The van, with the body still in the back, was located in Red Deer yesterday evening and police are now talking to residents to try to find out any information they know about how it ended up there.

An RCMP spokesperson described the whole situation as, “almost certainly a crime of opportunity … with a very unfortunate and upsetting twist.”
Police are still looking for the person responsible for stealing the van.
Anyone with any information about a suspect is asked to call police at 403-343-5575 or Crime Stoppers.
