UPDATE: Amber Alert Ontario has cancelled the Amber Alert for 8-year-old Gabriel McCallum. The child has been found safe.

The Ontario Provincial Police just issued an Amber Alert for a missing 8-year-old boy named Gabriel McCallum. The boy is said to have gone missing in the Thunder Bay area. A repeat of the Amber Alert was sent out minutes later, urging the public to report any details they may have on the missing boy to 9-1-1.

The boy was last seen with his mother Lynda McCallum, who is also the suspect. They were driving in a silver car with a loud exhaust on Copenhagen Road in the Gorham Township.

Gabriel is described as Caucasian, feet and 6 inches tall. He was wearing faded jeans and a long sleeve Canada shirt at the time of his disappearance.

The Amber Alert was also issued via the new nationwide cellphone emergency alert system that was tested last week

Meanwhile, parents of Ariel Jeffrey Kouakou, the ten-year-old boy who went missing on March 12th,  have just announced their plan to ramp up their search and keep their son in the public eye. Large yellow billboards have been put up in the Montreal neighbourhood where Kouakou was last seen.

The boy's father, Frederic Kouakou, is convinced that the boy was abducted. He's working to convince Montreal's Mayor to enlist the help of special investigators for child abduction cases. Police have theories that his son fell into a river and drowned.

Anyone with information that could be helpful in the search for Gabriel McCallum or Ariel Jeffrey Kouakou asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
