Just like Forever 21 before, Bench Canada is closing all of its brick and mortar stores. However, online sales will continue as usual, and right now Canadians can take advantage of some pretty incredible deals. Men's and women's clothing items are 50 to 70 percent off.
The original announcement of Bench stores closing came in January of 2020. The brand got its start in England and eventually opened 24 stores across Canada.
However, despite the popularity of Bench's clothing, it did not do much to differentiate itself from its athleisure competition.
"If you’re going to have bricks and mortar stores, you have to make it part of a brand experience," retail analyst Lisa Hutcheson told the Toronto Star, "If you look at Lululemon, which is really the leader in that segment, they’ve got yoga classes, they’ve got cafes. It’s not just a shop with stuff on the shelf.
