A Calgary Man Stole Money From A Store & Bought Paper Towel From Them With The Cash
The police are asking the public for help location this guy.
A Calgary thief got real bold after a robbery. On Thursday, May 7, Calgary Police announced that they're on the hunt for a male suspect involved in a gas station theft. The man reportedly stole cash from the store and then made a purchase from the same store. Oh, to have that kind of confidence.
Normally you'd expect the thieves to make a swift getaway after robbing a store. However, this man decided that he was going to take a chance and buy something from the store itself before getting away.
Facebook post told the public to be on the lookout for this suspect. They also posted images of the surveillance footage taken at the gas station.Service's
The encounter happened at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, as revealed in the post.
An unidentified man entered the Esso store, located in the southeastern part of the city. He apparently waited in the store for five minutes or so before heading to the back office area.
He somehow gained access to a locked room. There, he took out an undisclosed amount of cash.
At that point, you'd expect the thief to spring for the doors and make an escape.
However, the suspect just re-entered the store area, paid for an item at the counter, and then left.
From the surveillance footage, one of the items he grabbed appears to be a paper towel roll.
We're not sure if the thief just wanted to seem cool and not shady in the moment or if he genuinely needed that paper towel; either way, he got away with it.
A few minutes after the man had left, an employee believed that they heard someone in the back.
They investigated and found that money had been stolen. That's when the Calgary Police were notified.
The man is being described as approximately 50 years old, with a "slim build, scruffy grey beard, short moustache and short grey hair."
On the day of the crime, he was wearing a black jacket with a thin red stripe across the front, blue jeans, and possibly a Toyota TRD jacket.
He was reportedly sporting a black Saskatchewan Roughriders baseball hat as well.
