A tragic incident took place in Kootenay National Park, B.C., on Sunday, August 16. \nA 34-year-old Calgary woman was pronounced dead at the scene in a Marble Canyon accident. RCMP\n\nThe 29-year-old male was also swept away by the water but rescue services carried out a rope rescue and airlifted him to a hospital in Calgary. He is believed to have non-life-threatening injuries. \nThe woman was pulled out of the water by bystanders, who attempted "life saving measures" to resuscitate her. \nBC Coroners Service has initiated a fact-finding investigation to uncover more about the events leading to the Calgary woman's death.
