The Toronto Blue Jays have just made a major trade move by getting rid of their closing pitcher, Roberto Osuna. News just broke that Osuna was traded to the Houston Astros who were the 2017 MLB World Series Champions.

The trade comes amid allegations that Osuna abused his wife. In May 2018, Osuna was charged with assault. Though he has denied those allegations, he was placed on a 75 game suspension by the Blue Jays that was set to end this weekend.

While many fans believe that based on Osuna's reputation the trade was a necessary move, many other Canadians are unimpressed with the Blue Jays' decision to get rid of one of their best players.

Fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts that despite of domestic violence allegations, the trade was a terrible idea and will not fare well for the Toronto team.

Though suspended and charged, Osuna hasn't officially been convicted with anything related to the alleged domestic violence. Many fans maintain that the standard innocent until proven guilty should've been applied here too.

Osuna, who is 23-years-old, was arrested and charged with assault in May of this year. His suspension from the Blue Jays was set to end on Aug. 5 pending any further developments in the investigation. He was traded to the Houston Astros on July 30th, 2018.
