Canadians Can Finally Compete On "Survivor" And This Is What You Need To Apply
It can all be done with a Youtube video, but it's got to be amazing.
Canadians have been waiting for this for a long time, and I mean a long time. For the 18 years that"Survivor" has been on the air, not once has there been a Canadian contestant.
Well, that's all changing for season 39! If starving away to nothing, being isolated from the world and being filmed while doing it sounds like your dream come true, you can apply to be on thehere's how.
Canadians interested in the opportunity to be on the show will have to make an audition video. In this video, you'll need to provide your name, age, location, occupation, relationship status, and phone number. You'll also need to provide a brief description as to why you want to be a part of "Survivor."
Long-time host, Jeff Probst revealed to ET Canada that getting picked to be on the show is quite difficult. “We’re super picky, we’re looking for really compelling people and interesting stories," he said.
The number one tip he can give to those submitting audition tapes is authenticity. The casting directors don't care if you're a filmmaker, a daredevil or a stay at home mom, as long as you're real you've got a shot.
"Tell us about your life. What’s a day in your life look like and why do you want to do "Survivor"?" he said. “Just be yourself, and that’s really it.”Once you've completed your audition tape, you've got to post it on Youtube as unlisted. Then, you can simply send the link to SurvivorCastingCanada@cbs.com.
How willfare on the show? Amazingly, obv. We're badasses, and Probst agrees. “I think Canadians will do great," he said, noting that our undeniable talent for surviving the elements is definitely a leg up in the game.
So, get working on those audition tapes, Canada! Season 39 isn't gonna know what hit them.
