If you have been getting some weird charges from Spotify, you’re not alone. In fact, Canadians have reported getting weird charges from Spotify in their bank accounts. Here’s everything you need to know to make sure the same thing isn't happening to you.\nAccording to CBC News, multiple Canadians have reported weird and unusual charges from the popular music streaming app. For instance, one Toronto woman, Danielle Parent, noticed four unauthorized withdrawals of $119.88 from the music streaming service.\nParent claimed that the money was removed from her chequing accounts. Altogether, she was charged $479.52, which put her into overdraft and left her without money for groceries.\nParent told CBC News that she reported the fraudulent activity to TD and she was advised to get a new card.\nAnother Canadian with a TD bank account stated that after their card failed while trying to buy things at a convenience store, she checked her account. Her debit card statement showed three charges of $119.88 to Spotify. She also never signed up for the service.\nBoth these cases include Visa Debit cards, which means they can be used for online purchases. They claimed they did not know how this happened and would not release how many customers have been impacted.\nAccording to Reddit, this is not isolated to just these cases. Many users on the Canada subreddit have been discussing these mysterious charges and commenting about their experience.\nOne Reddit user said it happened to them in the past week – oddly enough, also with their TD account. Thankfully, they were able to get their money back.
