Cineplex Is Staying Open In Canada Amid All The Coronavirus Closures

In a letter to guests, Cineplex president and CEO Ellis Jacob said that theatres across the country would still be open amid growing concerns about the pandemic and other .
"I want to assure our guests that we are taking all appropriate measures to ensure our venues are safe and that we have existing plans and training protocols in place to ensure they stay that way," he said.
With health and safety being a top priority, Cineplex is ramping up cleaning efforts so that theatres can still operate and people can still come in to see a movie.
At all locations, enhanced cleaning protocols are being introduced and industrial-grade and food-service approved cleaning products are being used.
There is also a focus on high traffic and high contact areas to keep guests and employees safe.
Jacob also said that giving people safe and comfortable entertainment experiences is something Cineplex remains committed to.
So if you don't want to stay cooped up all the time, there is still something to do.

However, if you're feeling sick, Cineplex is asking you to stay home and not visit a theatre so that they "can ensure a safe and comfortable experience for everyone."
"We continue to monitor this situation closely and will provide ongoing updates as needed," Jacob said.
There will also be an increase in communications and reminders to movie-goers about health and safety measures being taken.
Cineplex is allowing employees to stay home if they need to and not be financially penalized because of that.
