Last Monday, a deadly attack took place on a busy sidewalk in Toronto. The suspect, Alek Minassian has been arrested and is going to be charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder and 13 counts of attempted murder

Minassian took a white Ryder van and drove onto a sidewalk plowing through unsuspecting citizens, leaving 10 dead and 16 others injured.

The city is set to hold a vigil in honour of those victims that lost their lives during the deadly attack. It will take place tonight, Sunday, April 29th at 7 PM. 

The vigil will take place at Mel Lastman Square, very close to where the deadly attack occurred. 

The city is expecting over 25,000 people to attend. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Premier Kathleen Wynne and Mayor John Tory are all expected to attend. 

Before the vigil, attendees will participate in a "walk of healing and solidarity".

Police have stated that regular officers and un-uniformed officers will be present at the event to ensure everyone's safety.
