After being fired from Sportsnet in early November, Don Cherry is making a rapid return to the airwaves. On Monday, November 18 the Toronto Sun reported that he would be launching a podcast. Even though Coach's Corner is done you will still be able to hear Don Cherry's podcast on his Spotify show called The Grapevine.\nOn Hockey Night In Canada, he made a now-infamous comment that resulted in him being fired from Sportsnet.\nThe novelty-suit-wearing commentator has drawn both public support and ire. While some held a rally in Toronto outside of Sportsnet and called for a boycott, others found his comments regarding immigrants wearing poppies to be problematic.\nEven though you won't be able to catch him on Coach's Corner anymore, he'll still be voicing his opinions while making the leap to digital.\nAccording to the Toronto Sun, you'll be able to listen to the new podcast version of the Grapevine on Mondays during the hockey season, but the first episode will be out on Tuesday, November 19.\nThat's about 10 days after he made the original comment that resulted in his termination from Sportsnet. The first episode sounds like it's going to address his exit from the company.\nThe hockey commentator's new podcast is also going to be a family affair. At least you can pay a couple bucks for a poppy or something like that. These guys paid for your way of life that you enjoy in Canada, these guys paid the biggest price."\nJess Allen made comments after Don Cherry's comments and subsequent firing about her personal experience with hockey players referring to them as "white boys" who were often "bullies." There are currently several petitions to get her fired from her position at CTV as a result.\nThere are stories everywhere.
