If you look at the active COVID-19 cases in our province, you'll notice a really big chunk are in Edmonton. 

As of Monday, September 28, there are 1,549 active cases of COVID-19 in Alberta.

Most of those, and we're talking almost half, have been recorded in our capital city.

Meanwhile, Calgary currently has 575 COVID-19 cases, according to the Government of Alberta

Both Calgary and Edmonton have had a jump in numbers compared to last week.

On Monday, the province announced that 406 cases of COVID-19 had been confirmed between Friday, September 25, and Sunday, September 27. That's up 52 cases from the previous update on Friday.

While Alberta's caseload has been slowly climbing since June, Dr. Deena Hinshaw said at Monday's press conference that our health-care system can handle it.
