Cannabis has been legal in Canada since 2018 and the market is exploding. Now, an enormous Edmonton weed gummy factory is ready to set a new record. With plans to churn out 400 million gummies a year, they will be the biggest edible producer in Canada.

According to a news release from Monday, June 29, Albertan company Dynaleo has a 26,000 square-foot factory. It's fine-tuned to crafting so many different kinds of cannabis gummies that it's like a weed lover's version of Willy Wonka's factory.

As their factory starts ramping up to full power, they'll be able to make "in excess of 400 million individual CBD and THC infused gummy pieces per year in virtually any shape, size, consistency, and flavour," said Jeff Salzsauler, Dynaleo COO and Co-Founder in a release.

While they don't have a lot of info out about what kinds of flavours you can expect, they wrote that "Dynaleo is expanding into additional complex confectionery product lines that are traditionally approachable and widely enjoyed."

They'll also have vegan options made from natural ingredients. They hope to eventually sell under their own house brand, as well as through other retailers, according to a release.

Right now, however, they aren't allowed to sell the gummies on their own since they don't have a license to sell. While they wait, they're distributing gummies to other companies that are licensed.

For example, they're making vegan gummies for Pantry, a U.S. company that makes a bunch of cannabis-infused foods, according to a release from Monday, June 29.

Despite cannabis being legal in 2018, edibles weren't actually legal until much later, on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019.

However, that didn't stop clever companies from making the stuff anyways. One company made DIY edible kits that allow you to choose your own dosage and assemble at home.

"Dynaleo aims to usher in the new era of legalized cannabis edibles by ensuring dosing accuracy and quality throughout the design and manufacture process," they wrote on their website.

If you're ever in the mood for some edibles, you'll know where to find them soon. Since they're going to be churning them out by the hundreds of millions, there will be more than enough to share.
