As places usually teeming with people are shuttered and emptied, we've loved to watch videos of animals exploring them. There's a place in Canada that's super empty compared to usual and wait until you see who has taken it over. The penguins at the West Edmonton Mall looked like confused shoppers all alone in the most massive mall in the country and you have to see it.
The mall announced that it would temporarily close its attractions on March 16, 2020. While some retailers are still open and have curbside pick up, the mall is possibly quieter now than it's ever been in its almost 40-year history.
Their latest video posted to their social channels on Wednesday, April 20, shows its iconic spaces eerily empty. Seeing Galaxyland with no one inside will leave any Edmontonian shook.
One shot opens on the Santa Maria ship and then the camera pans out and reveals two tiny African penguins, most likely the famous duo Dayo and Skadu. Seeing them have the place all to themselves with no humans around is stunning.
The adorable Marine Life residents waddle around before the focus shifts to thewhere, instead of hotel clerks ready to check-in travellers, you see something unexpected.
There's a huge lizard sitting on the desk! The video shows off other strangely empty spots in the mall now filled with animal residents instead.
