Here's Everything You Need To Know About The Attempted Terrorist Attack In NYC This Morning
NYPD have arrested one person.
The NYPD have confirmed that an amateur terrorist attack occurred early this morning at New York's Port Authority bus terminal.
Explosions were detonated in the subway tunnel about 200 ft. from 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue near Times Square at around 7:45 A.M.
One of the busiest bus terminals in the city, the Port Authority terminal was full of witnesses who claimed to have heard two explosions. The NYPD later confirmed that their accounts were correct.
The New York Police Department announced via Twitter that they have one man in custody in connection with these explosions. The man is injured and has been taken to hospital but is expected to live.
The NYPD is responding to reports of an explosion of unknown origin at 42nd Street and 8th Ave, #Manhattan. The A, C and E line are being evacuated at this time. Info is preliminary, more when available.— NYPD NEWS (@NYPDnews)
Police have since announced that there are a total of 4 injured people at the scene of the explosion. All injuries reported are non-life threatening.
NYPD are now telling all commuters to avoid the Port Authority terminal as they continue their investigation.
