If you tried to go onto Instagram or Facebook today and were having issues and thought something was wrong with your account, don't freak out – you're not alone. Instagram and Facebook are down worldwide and here's everything we know so far about the outage. Every time the social media platforms go down, the Internet freaks out – and there's no exception this time around.

Instagram and Facebook have had their share of outage problems this year, and it looks like, once again, people cannot cope.

Today, it's not just one platform, but three that are having issues – Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. Users worldwide started reporting problems with the apps early Wednesday morning. For some people, pictures and videos are loading or they are having issues uploading or sharing multimedia content. For others, they can't even access the app. However, the outage isn't affecting all users – some people have not fallen victim.

As usual, Twitter is going wild over the outage and the reactions are downright hilarious. A #InstagramDown hashtag has since emerged on Twitter and it's trending around the world.

So far, the reasons for the outage have not been shared with the public. Instagram addressed and confirmed the situation on their Twitter page around 15 minutes ago but did not explain what caused the app to go down worldwide. Sidenote, even they used the hashtag #instagramdown.

"We’re aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images and videos on Instagram. We're sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. ," reads the tweet.

Facebook also addressed the outage, and their tweet revealed as much as Instagram's did.

As always, one of the best things to emerge from the outage are the gold-worthy, hilarious tweets and reactions. You can always count on the Internet to not hold back.

As of now, there's no update as to when Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp will be fixed. Stay tuned to find out when you can go back to scrolling through your phone! For now, you can join the Twitter party. Or you could also go outside and enjoy the rare summer weather that Canada has blessed us with today.
