The world is in collective mourning after the news of flight PS752 which was en route to Kyiv when it crashed on January 8, 2020. There were no survivors of the horrific crash and among the 176 individuals who lost their lives were 63 Canadians. Just a day following the tragic accident, an Iran plane crash video has emerged which shows the plane getting struck above Parand, near the Tehran Airport where it took off.

According to The New York Times, the video has been verified and it shows a missile striking the plane.

Since the harrowing crash, many Canadian politicians have spoken up, including the Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, who gave an emotional address.

Trudeau’s address actually spoke of suspicion that the plane was shot down, rather than having crashed by accident. He vowed to continue searching for information to offer the people of Canada and the loved ones of the victims who lost their lives.

Of the Canadians who died during the crash, a number were from Alberta, B.C., Ontario, and Quebec. In fact, 27 of the individuals on the plane were from Edmonton, a city that is said to have a significant Iranian population.

The chilling footage below shows the plane being hit and its eventual crash.

In the video, we can see a bright light soar through the sky and collide with the plane. The collision ignites a bright explosion and we watch the plane plummet to the ground. Immediately after, we hear a thunderous crash.

The New York Times reporters who collected the information and footage were Christiaan Triebert, Malachy Browne, Sarah Kerr and Ainara Tiefenthäler.

A number of individuals aboard the flight were set to land in Toronto after a connecting flight from Kyiv, Ukraine. When the connection landed at YYC, there were 138 seats that sat empty.

Today, on January 9, information is circulating regarding the identities of the passengers of flight PS752.

On Wednesday night and Thursday, vigils are being held around the country to mourn the loss of those who boarded that flight.

Details regarding the plane crash are still minimal at this time. The emergence of this video by The New York Times is a significant development in the ongoing investigation.
